COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: PHOTO JOURNALISM

WEEK THREE:
This week we had a specific mood we were trying to portray through our photo which was "DARK". We could chose to either shoot "dark" subject matter or use post production to later jerk the viewers opinion on the photo. I found it interesting not to show accurate detail that would give away the fact that the subject was a mannequin and to hear how many of my fellow classmates would pick up on it. Only a few of them did, some suggested that maybe it was a church quire or an old lady thrift shopping.

STORY:
I took this photo when I and a few classmates were out at the mall shopping around. This is actually a photo of a mannequin in a mall store glass window. I chose to desaturate the colors to add more of an "old/warn" feel to image, thus making it feel less warm and inviting (like the store was in real life).
