COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: Nude Form Structure

I was thankful to have been given the opportunity in class to shoot a nude model. I'm the type of person who probably would never went and done this kind of photography myself so I was very intrigued to have gotten the chance to do so in class. Saying so, you can understand why chose to be a little more discrete in my posing for this specific subject. I decided to remove her face to make the image more about the form of the subject rather then the person in specific.

PERSONAL FAVORITE: SNOW QUEEN

So happy with the way these turned out!
These were 2 of the shots I took while on set of my classmate (& fello photographer) Karill Diaz's Snow Queen photo shoot. I was originally there just to take video footage of Karill for a documentary type project that we are working on but couldn't resist taking a few shots to play around with (thanks to Karill for allowing me).
This shoot was so much fun, Karill had a makeup artist on set (Julie Godbout) as well as a hairstylist (Katyln Halcrow) & the model (Aisyln Ireton) looked stunning.
I have done a few shots with this model in the past, she's gorgeous and such a pleasure to shoot, really works for the camera. I changed some color hues as well as added a texture layer to make her seem as though she's frozen in ice.
(More to come.. Maybe!)

PERSONAL: SKATE PARK

My classmate Karill is doing her year end assignment series on BMX bike riders, and while we've been hanging out quite a bit lately I've got the chance to shoot a little. This was my first experience shooting bike riders/skateboarders so it was interesting! You really have to be quick as they zoom past you.
The sky is edited to make it seem as though it was a beautifully lit sunset when in reality it was just a blue sky. My favorite of the 3 would have to be the one of the whole part, rather then the separate riders themselves. I love the tones in the lighting on the concrete!

PERSONAL: MORE DANA YANNI

Here are the rest of the images for Dana.
I tried to keep the colors very similar throughout the collection. I added an orange-yellow sun glow for a warm effect to contrast with the blue tone I added to the shadows in the photos!
Love these shots, Always get amazing shots with this model!

PERSONAL: DANA YANNI

THIS GIRL IS GORGEOUS!
So basically I have an assignment for class which asks for 4 editorial images showing people doing their job/what their job is. I'm not going to get too much into the assignment for this entry because these are not the photos I will be handing in for the assignment, these are a few of the photos we did after my idea.
After we got my concept out of the way,
we just took a few more photos for fun around the school! These are just two of about 10 images all together that I will be finalizing for her. (not counting the 3 that I have for my assignment.. That I have to chose one of to hand in)

COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: NEWS FILLER PHOTO

For this assignment we had to hand in a "news filler" photo. Basically something worth putting in a paper that people would be interested in seeing. My photo isn't very interesting but I think the fact that the same truck was at that same pole for 3 days in a row trying to fix whatever the problem was.

I like the lighting in this photo, it was mid morning so the sun wasn't at a harsh straight above angle, you can see dragged shadows from the trees. I edited it to make it feel like the warm fall day it was.

PERSONAL: CLASS TRIP

STORY:
During about this time, last year (in my first year of college) a few classmates and I went on a little trip out of the city to some random old broken down houses. Going through my old images from last year I came across these 4 images that stood out to me. The one of the road really sparked my interest the most. I don't know if I just didn't have time to edit these photos last year, or if they just didn't grab my attention before or what but I'm glad I found them and am able to post them now!

PERSONAL: ON THE ROAD

STORY:
I took these photos for an assignment last year on the way when Dave drove me back to school from a visit. I don't remember if I chose any of these specific ones for the assignment but going through my old images I really connected with these 3 and thought they fit perfectly together. I love the gradient on the sky and the color pallet I chose! They definitely hold a memory for me, not just of that specific time of driving but for all the times I've been stuck in the car for 8 hours back and fourth.

COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: CROSS LIGHTING

For this assignment we had to use the sun and a flash to achieve a double hight light with an inner core shadow. I had a bit of trouble with this assignment at first, but after talking it over a second time with my professor I had a better understanding of the key "core shadow" element which is the main focus of this type if lighting. When I handed the photos in I was still a little unsure whether they portrayed exactly what we were trying to show but When getting my grade back my teacher reassured me that I did meet the requirements for the assignment and he was please with my work :) !

COLLEGE ASSIGNMENT: PHOTO JOURNALISM

WEEK SIX:
For week six we had to cover "Halloween".
So basically I went out shooting with my friend Jess, and didn't have much success. Once it started getting dark my camera wouldn't focus so I didn't have much luck getting any other shots besides younger kids who started around 6ish when it was still light out. The assignment called for a series of photos that all fit together, and mine work okay but overall I'm not impressed with the outcome..
(These 3 photos are just the ones I actually like of what I shot, the 3rd i felt didn't fit in the series so I didn't even hand it in with the rest.)
